Asbestos Safety Essential From The HSE

 

With Asbestos being in most schools, in public buildings, and in the home (depending on the age of the house, bungalow); it is imperative that union safety reps, trade union officials and leaders, are fully aware of the serious health risks of exposure from Asbestos dust, flakes of asbestos, and products containing asbestos. e.g Johnson's Baby Powder or anything made of talc.

 

Measures to deal with Asbestos contamination and removal in a safe and responsible manor; is often not adhered to by builders, contractors, and employers.

Indeed the lack of knowledge amongst even Asbestos removal companies, and cowboy building companies, is the main reason why deaths caused by Asbestos fibre inhilation and exposure; are set to continue well into the end of this century.

 

Making oneself aware of the dangers and methods of decontamination, removal, and safe disposal of Asbestos; is the only way to avoid the release of Asbestos fibre into the atmosphere, our ground water, and rivers.
